Your health will improve drastically when you understand the importance of the alkaline/acidic body concept and then implement the alkaline lifestyle. Our healthy lifestyle habits go a long way but most of us have not been taught what those habits are. most of us have been brought up with processed, denatured foods and many synthetic chemicals, and all of the experts tell us that this is "normal." What's even more confusing is when we hear medical doctors telling us that diet doesn't matter. However, my own experience and that of many of my clients has shown me that it DOES matter. What we eat, adequate rest, stress reduction and regular exercise can be major factors in determining whether or not someone gets well or gets worse.
According to Dr. Robert Young, from pH Miracle Living, the pH level (the acid-alkaline measurement) of our internal fluids affects every cell in our bodies. Extended acid imbalances of any kind are not well tolerated by the body. Indeed, the entire metabolic process depends on a balanced internal alkaline environment.
A chronically over-acidic pH corrodes body tissue, slowly eating into the 60,000 miles of veins and arteries like acid eating into marble. If left unchecked, it will interrupt all cellular activities and functions, from the beating of your heart to the neural firing of your brain. In summary, over-acidification interferes with life itself leading to all sickness and dis-ease!
When the pH level in one’s body is unbalanced, almost any area of the body can be affected; nervous system, cardiovascular system, skeleton and muscles, skin, etc. Even obesity is a sign of over-acidity, a normal body response, which protects vital organs from damaging acids and their effects. Conversely, in an alkaline environment, the body corrects negative health challenges and naturally reaches an ideal weight.
Many people with health challenges I worked with had an overly acidic body chemistry (urine and saliva). People with more acidic body tissues experienced more pain. When they were able to alkalize their body more, they experienced less pain, or sometimes even a disappearance of pain. Generally speaking, when the body tissues and blood are at a healthy pH, a person is in good health.
The body functions best with a slightly alkaline pH 7.2 - 7.4. The normal pH of human blood is 7.365 and can ranges from 7.35 to 7.45. For pH values, 1 is the most acidic, while 14 is the most alkaline. A pH of 7 is neutral, which means it is right in the middle of the acid base scale and is neither acidic nor alkaline. When the body chemistry turns too acidic, we see many disorders develop.
To measure whether your body is alkaline or acidic is a very simple test, which you can do at home. It requires a pH measuring tape (available in your local health store, or click here).
